Kristine Yin

Dr. Kristine Yin is a board certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist with specialized training in surgery of the cornea. Dr. Yin’s primary goal is to provide compassionate and personalized eye care to each patient while utilizing the most advanced diagnostic and treatment strategies. Her practice interests include treatment of cataracts, corneal disease, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease.

A native of the San Gabriel Valley, Dr. Yin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of the Arts in Biology and Spanish. She received her medical doctorate from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City, graduating in the top 5% of her class.

Dr. Yin completed an internship in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian-Downtown Hospital in New York, New York. She was honored with the “Intern of the Year” award upon her graduation from the Department of Internal Medicine. She then completed residency in ophthalmology at the Cornell University Medical Campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, New York. During her training at Cornell, she graduated with the highest distinction and was awarded the Distinguished Housestaff Award from the Cornell Medical College Alumni Council.

She then returned home to Southern California to pursue a Fellowship in Cornea and External Eye Disease at the world-renowned Doheny Eye Institute of the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. This additional subspecialty training equipped her with extensive experience in infections of the conjunctiva and cornea, corneal degenerations, dry eye, and abnormalities of the anterior segment. She performed advanced techniques in cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and anterior segment reconstruction.

Dr. Yin’s academic achievements in ophthalmology include numerous peer-reviewed articles, lectures, as well as presentations at regional and national professional meetings. She is a member of a number of professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Los Angeles Society of Ophthalmology. Dr. Yin is fluent in Spanish and in Mandarin Chinese
